That North Grenville has more than its fair share of musical talent cannot be denied. Nor is it limited to one particular age or stage of life. Some sing for their supper; others just sing. If you have an interest in music, you can enjoy an evening or afternoon of song while assisting Kemptville and District Home Support and its work. Come to the Pentecostal Church at 1964 County Rd 43 on either Friday, April 15 at 7:30 pm or Sunday April 17 at 2 pm.
“Gentle Voices,” is directed by Louise Atchison and consists of the Sing’n Seniors, the Humming-Birds and the Uke-a-Ladies and Gentlemen performing a variety of musical numbers. The Sing’n Seniors consists of volunteers who sing with and for seniors; the Humming-Birds is a quartet consisting of Helen MacGregor, Paula Henke, Nancy McIntyre and Jane Baird; and the Uke-a-Ladies and Gentlemen do exactly that. Also contributing will be Paul Sharp on violin and Steve Gaw and David Henke on guitar. The selections will be varied and include favourites such as Blue Moon, La Bamba, Heart and Happy Trails. Come and join the party.
Tickets are $10 a piece and may be purchased at Brewed Awakenings at 2868 County Rd 43 and Kemptville and District Home Support at 215 Sanders St. (613-258-3203). They can also be purchased at the door.
