What an exciting way to end the hockey season! The Kemptville Midget Storm House 1 came away with a Gold Medal win in the Kanata House League tournament. These young ladies have worked so hard this past season, typically falling just short in many games. They never gave up and continued to grow as individuals and as a team. This was evident in all of their games during this tournament. Their coaches and parents could not be more proud of them.

All games were extremely close and they had to work hard to secure every win. The first win of 1-0 was against a team all the way from Iqaluit. Next team up was Pembroke, with another win 2-0. They fell short against Stonemills (2-1), only to see them again in the Semi-Final game. The loss was filled with many penalties. The girls remained focused and cooler heads prevailed in the semi- final, with a win of 1-0. This sent them to the Gold Medal game. The girls were now on fire and played with such emotion that nothing was going to stop them. This time the win was by a larger margin of 4-0 against a team from Ottawa. The parents were quite thankful, as they were now able to breathe a little easier.

Special mention must be made for goalie Kayla McGregor, who only allowed two goals the entire tournament. The Coaches would like to thank Kanata for organizing a well run tournament. Special thank you to our Manager, Susan Dennett, for keeping us all organized! More importantly, thank you to all the girls for a job well done. It has been awesome coaching you all and watching you play.
