Immigrant Entrepreneur Award


Nominations are invited for the 3rd Annual Leeds Grenville Immigrant Entrepreneur Award. Immigrant Entrepreneurs come to Canada with many new ideas, business approaches and a fierce drive to succeed. Leeds Grenville is privileged to be home to a large number of these individuals. The aim of this award is to recognize and celebrate the contributions that Leeds and Grenville immigrant entrepreneurs are making to local communities. The St. Lawrence-Rideau Immigration Partnership established this award in 2015 in conjunction with the Leeds Grenville Small Business Enterprise Centre.

To be eligible, nominees must have been born outside of Canada, be an owner/operator of an active business in Leeds Grenville, reside in Leeds Grenville and demonstrate characteristics of a successful entrepreneur.

All nominations are judged by select members of the St. Lawrence-Rideau Immigration Partnership Council and staff. Judging criteria is based on key qualities such as perseverance, versatility, patience, and community contributions.

The winner will be awarded with a personalized plaque at the Bridges to Better Business Conference being held in Brockville during Canada’s Small Business Week in late October, 2017.

Nominations are due by September 15 2017. The winner will be notified by October 6 2017.
