The Kemptville Players Inc. are busy with summer rehearsals for the fall production of Norm Foster’s ‘Sadie Flynn Comes To Big Oak’. This committed group of five actors is directed by Sandra Tobin who has directed and acted in many plays for KPI. I attended the rehearsal last evening in my role as publicity person and was amazed to find that most of the actors had already learned most of Act 1 and were working hard on their blocking.
The cast is comprised of three veteran actors of KPI; Winston Kinnaird, Diane Miller and Monica Cleland, a more recent actor Ron Hallman in his third role with our group, and a brand new actor, Cathy Schellings, who is making her acting debut. This is a wonderful, witty and poignant play and the perfect vehicle to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, and also the 50th anniversary of The Kemptville Players Inc., which started out as The St. James Players.
Show times are October 27, 28 and 29, with a dinner theatre on Saturday, October 28. Ticket information closer to the date.
