The CIBC Run for the Cure is an event that raises funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause. This is the 21st year Run for the Cure has been held. The CIBC branch in Kemptville is taking part once again this year, with a BBQ and a raffle.

Last week, staff had a BBQ in the parking lot of the bank and raised $898.50 for the Run for the Cure. This was a combination of the BBQ and raffle, the draw for which will be held on September 28.

Melissa Button, one of the event organisers, thanked the community for its support of the cause. “As always, we couldn’t do this without our amazing community. We had donations from Les Winter at Fat Les for the meat, Jim Beveridge at B&H, Kemptville Giant Tiger, and Bryan Hess at Wonder bread.”
