The Fifth Annual Business Decoy Decorating Event is underway, and the Rotary Club of Kemptville would like to invite you to decorate a duck decoy most representative of your business. This charitable, fun event provides much needed funds for Rotary’s numerous community endeavors and projects such as: North Grenville High School Science Fair, Rotary Park, the Kemptville Youth Centre (KYC), community events and many more. The majority of the funds collected will remain locally. This event runs in conjunction with the Annual Duck Race (May 26, 2019).
For a donation of $100 to our Rotary club, a Rotarian will provide you with a decoy and stand. The decoy should be decorated to advertise and/or promote your business, and be returned to the Rotary Club by June 3, 2019 by calling Nancy at 613-808-1660, Steven or Jo-Anne at 613-325-2933 to arrange for pick-up. The decoys will be exhibited at Canada’s Hunting & Fishing Store at your local Canadian Tire Store between June 10 to 24, 2019.
Judging for the best business decorated decoy will be conducted by community votes, vetted by Rotarians. The annual trophy will be presented to the winner at a future Rotary meeting and advertised in the local newspaper. Winner selection will be done and published prior to Canada Day. The decoys will be displayed on a float in the Rotary Canada Day parade. All participants are welcome to join the parade and walk with the decoy float, or create their own entry.
